DANCE CLASSES for KIDS and ADULTS

Ballet classes improve strength, flexiblity, poise and control. Warmup barre exercises progress to more challenging center work. The emphasis is on grace and musicality. 

Energetic and expressive, jazz dance focuses on rhythmic movement with various body isolations. Most of the dancing you see in films and on Broadway is based on jazz dance.

In tap, the emphasis is on footwork and the expression of rhythm through sound. Students practice control, coordination, and agility while getting caught up in the pure pleasure of making music with their feet.

Modern dance technique is the basis of this class, which also incorporates lyrical and contemporary dance vocabulary. Students tone, and strengthen, while exploring movement concepts such as contract/release, and fall/recovery. 

Hip-hop means the whole culture of the movement... how you act, walk, look, dance are all part of the hip-hop culture. Whatever music gives you the grunt...the funk...that groove or the beat.... it's all part of hip-hop.

For Roman numeral ballet students only. Pointe technique prepares dancers to dance 'en pointe' safely and correctly. Class by recommendation only.

These classes are for preschool dancers, giving them a well-rounded introduction to ballet and tap dancing, exercise, creative movement and tumbling. In a loving and supportive classroom environment, children enjoy learning while interacting with their young peers. Children must be registered for the entire year. Dancers need both ballet and tap shoes.

Our Jump for Joy program offers the perfect learning environment for children with Down Syndrome. Classes are designed specifically for maximum benefit and maximum fun! Combinations of ballet, jazz, tap and lyrical dance concepts are taught throughout the year. This is a free scholarship program.
